  • The Rev. Kerri Brennan has been appointed Incumbent of the Parish of St. James Manotick, effective October 7, 2019.
  • The Rev. Patrick Stephens will be inducted as Incumbent of the Area Parish of the St. Lawrence on the Feast of All Saints (transferred), Sunday, November 3rd, 2019. The service will be at 4 pm at Christ Church Seaway (2 Bethune Avenue, Long Sault). The Venerable Doug Richards will officiate and the Rev. Claude Delorme will preach. Clergy are invited to vest; the color will be white. A reception will follow, everyone is welcome.

Season of Creation

Christians around the world are invited to give particular attention to praying and caring for God’s creation as part of the global Season of Creation, observed from September 1 to October 4 every year. General Synod 2019 passed a resolution adopting the Season of Creation in the Anglican Church of Canada as a time of prayer, education, and action and encouraging dioceses and parishes to participate. Ordination & retirement announcement

It is Bishop Chapman’s intention, God willing, to ordain Mr. Michael Garner
transitional deacon and to ordain Ms. Tamara Connors and Mr. Steven Zytveld
vocational deacons at Christ Church Cathedral on The Feast of St. Michael
and All Angels, Monday, September 30th, 2019, at 7 pm. More details will
follow later in September. Please keep the ordinands in your prayers.

As well, Rev. Mervyn Dunn has received the Bishop’s permission to retire
from his ministry as Associate Priest of the Parish of March, effective

Belle leaves The Well

Belle Ryan has been a cook at The Well community ministry in Centretown Ottawa for nearly a decade, rising at 4:45 each morning to prep and bake for its visitors, feeding nearly 100 women each day. Archdeacon Peter John Hobbs thanked her for her great service to the community ministry and wished Belle well last June, as she moved back to Newfoundland.

June 15 — Maylanne Maybee, a deacon for 34 years, says deacons have inherited “the spirit of care and compassion for the poor and the sick, plus the social gospel movement for economic justice [—now] reintegrated with a liturgical role.”

The Rev. Margo Whittaker, recently Incumbent of the Parish of
Bearbrook-Navan-Blackburn, is no longer at the parish, and will not be
returning to that position, effective immediately.

The Bishop’s Office is pleased to announce that Mr. Adam Brown has been
recognized as a Postulant of the Diocese of Ottawa, effective July 31, 2019.

Also, the Rev. Canon Laurette Glasgow has received the Bishop’s permission
to retire from her position as Special Advisor for Government Relations,
effective December 31, 2019.

The Bishop’s Office is pleased to announce that the Rev. Rosemary Parker has
been appointed Associate Incumbent of the Area Parish of Mississippi Lake,
effective August 1, 2019.

been appointed Associate Incumbent of the Parish of All Saints Westboro with
St. Matthias, effective July 1, 2019.
