Reporting to the Rector, the Children and Youth Ministries Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation and oversight of the St Matthew’s Sunday School program and the emerging Youth Ministries.

The Parish combines the congregations of three historic churches: Christ Church, St. John’s, and St. James in the village of Carp. Carp is one of the fastest growing, rural-fringe communities in the City of Ottawa; with a large number of new families and an increasing number of retirees as well. Conveniently located only 30 minutes from downtown Ottawa, Carp has become a community known for it’s rural village feel and ease of relationship building.

St. James the Apostle, located in Manotick, ON, seeks a new Incumbent. The current Incumbent has recently retired after seven years of tenure.

The Parish is an active and stable parish with almost 600 people on the parish rolls in a growing community. There is a second, three-quarter time priest; and active choir with music director; and a variety of parish groups and activities. The challenges are working with the expanding area around the parish, family and young adult programming, and growth.

St. Alban’s Student Leadership Program 2018-2019

St. Alban’s is offering several internships for post-secondary students for the 2018-2019 school year. Get involved with a 2-hr/week placement in a ministry of the parish, including: campus outreach, francophone ministry, children’s ministry, communications, and worship. Participate in life-giving leadership and faith development sessions with Rev. Mark and others. Interns will receive an honorarium of $500/semester, and are expected to be visible in the parish community.

Position: Part-Time Director of Music

The Church of the Ascension is seeking a part-time Director of Music to join their diverse and energetic community.

Worship music at Church of the Ascension is varied, ranging from contemporary songs from various sources as well as music with African roots to traditional hymns. The congregation includes a number of skilled musicians and singers, who add their talents to those of the parish’s music director. Instruments used regularly include violin, guitar, drums and saxophone in addition to piano and organ. The focus of the music is on participation and worship, rather than performance. There is no permanent choir; ad hoc groups come together seasonally as needed.

10 hours / week: $20-24 per hour.
