The Rev. John Wilker-Blakley, diocesan representative on the Capital Region Interfaith Council and the Christian Council, encourages the people of the Diocese of Ottawa to become informed about, and consider supporting, MAP Reintegration. “This is a largely volunteer organization, local to the Ottawa area, which helps people, released from prison, transition into Canadian society. They have a well respected track record of helping to prevent re-offending through their work to support ex-prisoners to find housing, jobs, and community; the very things that help them to establish stable, active lives on the outside of prison. It is an impressive program that saves both lives, and the Canadian taxpayer. Please go to the website for more information. While MAP’s funding was lost some years ago, they have continued to carry on with a shoestring budget. If you would like to contribute to this organization financially or volunteer please go to their website We were all very impressed with their work, especially considering the financial constrains under which they work.”
