Orange Shirt Day (Sunday, September 29, 2019) – Parishes in the Diocese of Ottawa are encouraged to observe Orange Shirt Day on Sunday, September 29, 2019 by wearing an orange shirt. The day is not intended to be complicated. Parishioners can simply wear an orange shirt that they already own or buy a plain orange t-shirt. If they so desire, parishioners could have the words “Every child matters” printed on the t-shirt. If parishes wish to order orange shirts, they will find that information through the link below.

What is Orange Shirt Day September 30th? An occasion to honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada and to learn more about the history of those schools.
