The Ottawa Anglican Cursillo Movement (OACM)

OACM began in 1981 with significant help from the existing Roman Catholic movement. Since then, more than 110 weekend retreats have been held, attended by more than 2,500 men and women from across the Diocese. The OACM functions as a part of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa and operates under the direct authority of the Bishop of Ottawa.

Cursillo Retreats

Cursillo is a Spanish word that means “short course” and is pronounced “kur-SEE-yo.” Participation begins with a three-day, live-in weekend that includes a series of talks, discussions, worship, and fellowship. Thereafter, the movement encourages ongoing spiritual development through gathering with the wider community, meeting in small groups, and engaging in spiritual direction.

Ultreya

Ultreya is a Spanish word that conveys the meaning of “keep going.”

An Ultreya is a gathering of people who have attended a Cursillo retreat, though it is not exclusively for those who have attended Cursillo – All are welcome to attend.
